Year 6 write wonderful winter imagery poems
15th December 2017
Year 6 have been writing some wonderful winter imagery poems. They chose different images - stags, wolves, steam trains, frozen rivers and cities in the snow. They revised how to turn prose into poetry, as they had already learnt how to do this in the autumn, when they produced similar poems describing a very different time of year. These are available to view in T3.
They have created some lovely Christmas cards and put the poems inside, for their families. I do hope you enjoy them. Their work is also on display in the classroom, if you are not the lucky recipient of a card!
In Classics, we have been watching the exciting myth of Perseus and The Gorgon and discussing what it tells us about belief in ancient Greek culture. There will be some class books on display in the new year, in which, the children have written about various aspects of The Odyssey. We look forward to reading War Horse in January to compliment the Year 6 History module.
