Year 6 have settled in very quickly to their new roles at the top end of the school. An extra study skills session before school started helped to clear away the cobwebs and ensured that children were in the right mindset to begin what is an important year for them. Responsibilities are being organised and the children are looking forward to helping others around the school.
The Year 5 children are coping well with making the transition to senior students. They have done really well with moving from lesson to lesson and keeping track of their equipment. Staff are busy helping children tie ties, ensure that shirts are tucked in, find lost blazers and the occasional lost child!
All tutors have told their classes that for every 5 times they are heard/witnessed reading at home they will receive a merit token and stamp. If you hear your child read could you please ensure that you sign your child's reading record.
