Mrs Bufton-Green - Welcome back

Dear Parents

I do hope your sons and daughters are as excited as I am for the return to school on Monday. I am very much looking forward to meeting all of our pupils in person and spending some time popping in and out of classrooms so they can get to know me too. Whilst technology has provided me with the opportunity to meet the school community virtually, there is no substitute for face-to-face interactions.

I appreciate that there may also be an air of anxiousness amongst the pupils on their return. The staff are conscious of this and know their pupils well, so will be on hand swiftly to support those that may find the transition back to school difficult. This period of remote learning has provided the children with as close to their real school experience as possible and the teachers and I have been impressed by their engagement, independence and progress throughout the term. They truly have been fantastic.

I must also take this opportunity to thank the staff again for their commitment to provide the best learning experiences for the pupils during this period. Their dedication, creativity, good humour and pastoral care have been exemplary and I feel very fortunate to work with such professionals with a deep-rooted ‘can do’ attitude. And finally, thank you, parents, for your support of your children during remote learning. We know that this will have brought its own challenges and we are grateful for your partnership in making it work for the children.

I wish you all an enjoyable weekend and look forward to seeing you at the front door, or school gates, over the coming days.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Bufton-Green
