Mr Grosse's blog
22nd January 2016
Dear Parents
The drop in temperature has certainly come as a shock this week but it hasn't dampened the enthusiasm of the children at Gateway.
Activities in and out of the classroom have continued a plenty and on Monday, we were once again successful on the netball court with the Year 5 A team victorious in their fixture against Pipers Corner. The B team also did the school proud, narrowly losing to the same opposition. Wednesday saw the Year 4 children participating in a science day, investigating changes of state and Year 6 completing the Boys House Football competition - Barnardo emerging as the overall winners. Year 2 enjoyed a fascinating visit to the Mandir on Thursday, returning with plenty of stories about their day. Just a few highlights from another busy week, to go along with the usual hard work put in by both children and staff at the school. You can read more about these events below.
Finally, this weekend we wish our cross-country runners the best of luck as they compete in the Chiltern and District event at Hervines Park, Amersham. I am sure that they won't be put off by whatever weather is thrown at them, and the very best of luck also to our swimmers at the ISA Nationals at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London.
Have a great weekend.
