Mr Grosse's blog: So many opportunities

So many opportunities..

Despite the dark evenings, I always enjoy walking around the school site after the end of the school day - it’s still such a busy and vibrant place. We are so lucky to have such enthusiastic staff who provide a huge range of clubs for the children to enjoy. Only this week I’ve seen children try a new language, learn a set move from a corner in football, plan a strategic move in a board game, try to take the roof off in choir practice and discuss their favourite books in the library. All this on top of our regular homework session!

One of the added bonuses from our clubs programme is how children from different year groups have the opportunity to work and play together, not only developing their skills, but also their friendships. Our year 6 pupils also do a wonderful job of assisting the staff and the younger children really look up to them.

The clubs provide a real opportunity for the children to get involved with their school community. One visitor to the school this week asked a child about why they enjoyed ‘Eco Club’. The child replied: ‘I love doing things to help around the school’ - never has emptying bins been such fun!

Our extensive list of clubs can be found here: and I know that Mr Wallace is finalising an even more exciting set of clubs for next term.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
