It hardly seems believable that this is the last bulletin of the academic year! I have just received the final go ahead for all our building plans for the summer so we will be very busy getting everything packed away and cleared so that teams of builders can start work on Thursday next week. Exciting times!

The Year 6 production, Lights, Camera, Action, was an overwhelming hit with our audience. It was the most amusing children's production I have ever seen, it had laugh out loud moments as well as a tear jerking finale. Mrs O'Hare and Mrs Izard worked tirelessly with our talented Year 6 pupils to bring the production together and our super Year 6 really rose to the occasion. We were all very proud of them.

As I write this I am leaving school with Mr Atkinson to enjoy a lunch at Cafe Twit in Great Missenden. I am delighted to say that two boys in Mr Atkinson's class, James Palmer and Jayden Owen, and Ted Hearn in Mr Judge’s class have all earned 150 merit awards this academic year and as a treat we are going to enjoy a lunch together. The boys will also be awarded a merit strip which will be sewn onto their blazers as a permanent reminder to everyone that they achieved the ultimate award. Well done boys!

I am looking forward to watching the Year 3 and 4 pupils enjoy their sports event at Misbourne School this afternoon and the Year 5 and 6's event will follow after school this evening. Mr Judge has spent a long time planning these events and I am sure they will both run like clockwork. Although a warm day I am sure these races will be super entertainment for all, with some excellent skills demonstrated and some very close races. I look forward to announcing the results of the keenly fought House competition.

As we draw to the end of term I have already announced some staff changes for next year. Sadly, we will also be saying a fond farewell to three Learning Support Assistants. Mrs Pluck, Miss Galley and Mrs Price, are all leaving Gateway to work at other schools. They will be missed by many here and I know we all wish them the very best for the future. Our new Learning Support Assistants and their personal profiles can all be viewed via the link in this week's newsletter. Parents can also find out more about our new teachers here too.

I will be sending out my Headteacher’s Report next week but I would like to thank the pupils and staff at Gateway School for their many and varied contributions to an excellent year. I have also been very grateful for the support of parents throughout the year and I look forward to welcoming you and your children back to Gateway School in September.

Enjoy the weekend.
