Dear Parents
Thank you so much for your support for the Macmillan Coffee Morning which we held today in our lovely new hall. Not only was it a great opportunity to raise money for a good cause but also to showcase the new hall and see how the whole school benefits from the summer building work, as it tied in really well with our Roald Dahl event. The amount collected so far is £481.00 and we hope to boost this with additional sales from the cake sale held this afternoon. Thank you to all the parents for your help and support of the event.
The pupils all enjoyed visiting our very own Roald Dahl statues, played by our talented Year 6 pupils throughout the day. The ever resourceful Gateway staff, encouraged by Mrs Kemp and Mrs O'Hare, have planned a lovely range of creative Roald Dahl activities for the pupils of all ages to enjoy today. Do ask your children what they got up to!
Another important development this week was Mr Grosse's unveiling of our updated 'At Gateway' statements during our whole school assembly on Monday. Over the Summer Term, the school council reps presented their ideas to staff who then tweaked these a little to come up with our new statements:
At Gateway we ASPIRE to:
Achieve
Strive
Participate
Investigate
Respect
Enjoy
Staff and children will regularly refer to these during their lesson times and we are confident that focussing on these values will ensure the pupils at Gateway leave the school as confident, happy learners with the right attitudes to make the very best of all the opportunities they are offered.
I hope you enjoyed the opportunity to meet with your child's class teacher/tutor this week. If you were unable to make these times please feel free to contact the School Office to make a mutually convenient appointment.
Have a lovely weekend.
