Dear Parents
We have had a lot of fun this week listening to the children reciting their learnt poems. Mr Grosse, Mrs Kemp, Mrs Kemp and I shared all the classes out between us and we were all amazed by the confident, clear deliveries we saw, with plenty of expression and even humour added in. A big thank you to all the parents who have obviously helped to prepare the children so well for this challenge. The pupils have also been collecting points for their houses and we will be in a position to award some Merit Tokens to the winning house next week.
The weather has been ideal for House Cross Country this week, not too cold and the ground was not too wet so plenty of impressive times were recorded. Well done to all the children who took part and gave their best at this event.
We were all able to join together for a short Remembrance Service on Wednesday. The children were all very reflective and I was impressed with their knowledge and empathy about this important day. The whole school listened to three very moving poems recited brilliantly by six of our Year 6 pupils, and enjoyed a rendition of the Last Post by Mr Wallace and Hannah Matthews.
Today we welcomed 13 families to our Early Years Open Morning. The talented nursery staff had once again set up some inspired creative learning activities for our visiting children to enjoy. It was a lovely session and I am sure the parents enjoyed meeting key staff too.
I hope everyone enjoys a rest at the weekend ready for another action packed week.
Kind regards
Sue La Farge
