What a fantastic Sport Relief Day we have had. The children have enjoyed their chance to run a mile and many of them have of course gone the extra mile and completed more laps. It was lovely that many parents were able to come along and join us and also good to see many staff complete their laps - demonstrating a variety of styles! A super idea from Mr Clark and Mr Atkinson for a healthy way to raise money for this event.
The day of course was made extra special by the appearance of the Premier League Trophy. This was kindly organised for us by Mr and Mrs Potts, parents of Remi in Year 2. What an opportunity for all the pupils to see the trophy in real life! Great excitement for many of the football lovers amongst us! The whole school are very grateful that the Potts family agreed to share the trophy with us.
I enjoyed the Celebration Assemblies from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 earlier this week. It was great to see the variety of work presented and the obvious pride the children take in their achievements. They really do enjoy a very varied week, with many challenging activities planned for them. I am looking forward to the Year 3 and 4 spectaculars next week. A select group of musicians are going to perform in another popular Music Tea this evening. This is a great opportunity for the children to showcase their talents in front of an appreciative audience. Please do encourage your child to sign up for one of these teas if they have pieces ready to perform.
With the amount of illness amongst both children and staff it must be nearing the end of term! I hope that everyone enjoys a healthy and restful weekend and so that we can all enjoy the last few days of term.
