Thank you all for the part you played in making this year’s Summer Fair such a great Gateway event. The Friends of Gateway team had got everything under control and even managed to secure a dry day - a minor miracle! The super Year 6 pupils excelled themselves with the variety of stalls they had organised and their lovely caring attitude to the younger children. I so enjoyed listening to our fantastic choirs and musicians, my thanks to Mrs Izard and Mrs Wilkes for preparing them so well. Another highlight naturally was trying all the Bake Off entries! We certainly have some very talented children at Gateway.
This week seems to have flown past. Mr Bridges has mobilised the Junior Road Safety Officers to help with our Walk to School Week. Sadly it has been such a wet week but everyone should be commended for their efforts to support this initiative. Thanks also to all the kind parents who have given up their time to help Year 5 complete their Footsteps training. This is such an important skill and helps to build important independence when they start to explore the area on their own.
I have enjoyed seeing many parents at the Year Ahead meetings this week. All year groups have an information booklet containing the important points so if you were unable to attend this evening please ensure you pick up a leaflet. Staff are currently busy organising balanced classes for the next academic year. We know the children very well and a lot of thought and effort goes into this process so that we can ensure everyone is in the right place to thrive in their next academic year.
I hope you all enjoy a dry weekend! And fingers crossed for a dry Tuesday so that the Juniors can enjoy their sports day.
