Term really seems to be getting underway now. It was lovely to see so many parents at the Meet the Teacher evenings this week. If you were unable to attend and would like to see your child's class teacher please contact the school office to arrange a suitable time.
We have all enjoyed a great week of Roald Dahl activities and many year groups have also been out on exciting trips. The creative Gateway staff were invited to design their own Dream Jars. A total of 34 staff completed a jar and the children had a fascinating time trying to work out the clues to identify the member of staff involved. Many interesting dreams and facts were discovered.
Our busy sporting fixtures start next week and all the children from Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 will be taking part in House Cross Country. We also have two important whole school events which I hope you can support. On Thursday we will be celebrating Harvest Festival so will be looking for donations from Gateway families, further details can be seen in the Office Bulletin. All of our produce will be donated to the Chesham Food Bank or the Woodlands Care Home for the Elderly.
On Friday from 8.30am, we would love to welcome you to school to support our Macmillan Coffee Morning. Not only will there be hot drinks, delicious cakes and a selection of stalls to browse but also a chance to see our talented Year 6 pupils perform their Roald Dahl character statues. Please do join us even if you can only spare a few minutes. All the proceeds will go to such a good cause and sadly one so many of us can relate to.
I hope all Gateway families enjoy a lovely restful weekend.
