Mrs La Farge's blog

As we are racing towards the end of term all the children and many staff have been working very hard to prepare Christmas productions to amaze us all with today or next week. I am sure they will be brilliant and some will certainly have the ahhh factor. It will be lovely to see you all at these various productions and I hope you all enjoy them as much as I will! Today I watched Mrs Outten's ballet club dance beautifully with grace and poise at their performances.

Today all parents should have received the new programme of clubs which will be offered next term. This term we offered 20 per cent more clubs than last year and I know Miss Mac is pleased with the variety and sheer number of clubs we are offering for next term. The letter explains the booking process so please read this carefully.

My staff all met in their different curriculum groups on Wednesday evening and were considering ways to improve the teaching and learning across the school in their subject areas. In the last few weeks Subject Leaders have attended curriculum group meetings organised by Bellevue and have had an opportunity to swop ideas and good practice with their counterparts in other schools. These meetings provide lots of great ideas some of which the Subject Leaders are now keen to introduce to the curriculum at Gateway.

Finally, the Community Police are going to be patrolling outside the school in the morning and the evenings as we are still having problems with parking on double yellow or zig zag lines.

Good luck to all the children participating in the ISA Regional Swimming Gala at Copthall Stadium on Monday, and I hope you and your children enjoy a restful weekend ready for the busy week ahead.
