There has been a really lovely feeling of excitement and anticipation around school this week. The children are all working hard preparing for their productions and are also being kept really busy in the classroom, as the teachers always have more they want to achieve before the holidays are upon us.

Last Friday, many children enjoyed the inaugural School Disco in the extended hall. This appeared to be a very positive change and the whole event ran very smoothly thanks to the brilliant organisation of Mrs Bawden, many parent volunteers and support from key staff.

We are now looking forward to a bumper Christmas Fayre on Saturday. Once again a first as we will be holding the Fayre at school. I know this will be a really enjoyable family event and it will be lovely to see many of you here. Thank you to everyone who has been busy working behind the scenes to make this a successful and happy day for the children.

Year 5 and 6 House Hockey and Rugby competitions took place this week with some fiercely competitive games taking place. It's always amazing to see how motivated the children are when faced with their friends! Look out for the results in the sports section next week.

The next few days are probably my favourite in the school calendar. Today I have had the privilege of watching all the pupils from Nursery to Year 2 perform to their proud parents and grandparents. On Monday it will be the turn of Years 3 and 4 to do the same and it will all be rounded off by the Year 5 and 6 Carol Concert at the church on Tuesday evening. These events are so memorable for the children and I am sure you will be amazed by the quality of productions all the staff have worked so hard to produce. Obviously we couldn't achieve these results without your fantastic children and also your support at home to prepare costumes, lines and some fantastic props. So well done to everyone and I hope you enjoyed the shows!
