Many exciting events happen at Gateway School every week and this one has been no exception. Skipping mania has really taken hold after the fun skipping workshop organised by Mrs Shaw on Tuesday. The Playground Leaders have all been trained to assist on the playground and they demonstrated some very impressive skipping moves in our assemblies at the end of the week. I am sure seeing the older children demonstrate such skills will be a great inspiration to the younger children.
I heard a lot about Year 4s enjoyable trip to the Natural History Museum where they were able to find out more about their current topic Natural Disasters, whilst Year 2 visited the Mandir, a Hindu Temple, as part of their topic on India. The children love these trips and they really enhance their classroom learning.
Next week, we will finish half term with a flurry of activity - a trip out for Year 3, a Music Tea on Tuesday to showcase our talented musicians, and two regional ISA tournaments for the talented cross country runners and the girls footballers to enjoy.
We are also repeating our successful Sponsored Reading Event over the next few weeks. You will receive a letter today, explaining how it all works; hopefully your child will be keen to take part.
Thankfully, the days are getting lighter and hopefully we will all be able to enjoy the weekend ahead with some warmer, dryer weather. Good luck to the U9s and Mr Clark in their football tournament on Saturday.
