Dear Parents

We have ended the half term with many successes - fantastic results for the U11 Girls’ Football teams at the ISA London North competition. Gateway School are the current holders of both the U11 Boys London North trophy and the U11 Girls London North trophy - an exciting first! Well done to all the children who have played so well to get to this point and thank you to all the PE staff, and Mr Grosse, who have coached these talented children to this standard.

Over 20 children performed in a Music Tea on Tuesday, as ever this was a lovely occasion and provided a supportive environment for many budding musicians to make their debut performance. We also launched our new Online Learning Journey programme, Tapestry, to the EYFS parents on Wednesday evening. This is a fantastic programme which will allow us to share uploaded pictures and videos of the Early Years children learning through their structured activities and through play. The EYFS team have worked really hard over the last term to upload lots of fantastic evidence ready for this launch and I am sure this programme will help to strengthen the partnership between school and home.

With a holiday next week Mr Atkinson presented a very thought provoking assembly about Safer Internet Use. Amongst other important messages he highlighted the problem of uploaded images and how they are then out of our control and can never be deleted. Something our older children need to be very aware of.

On the first day back after half term Gateway School’s Year 6 pupils will be selling their newspaper. This is full of news articles, pieces about some hot school topics, and some in-depth interviews with many of the Gateway staff. Please bring in £2 to buy your copy of this limited edition print run!

I do hope everyone has a wonderful break and has a chance to re-charge all the batteries for the busy half term ahead.
