Dear Parents
It was lovely to see many parents at our Meet the Teacher events this week. I know that all the staff enjoyed meeting their new parents and starting to build the all important partnership between home and school.
All Gateway children have enjoyed a busy and happy time this week. The excitement of school trips has begun, the programme of fixtures has started, class and school routines have been embedded and the children have soaked it all up. It is a delightful opportunity to greet all the children in the morning and I do so enjoy seeing their enthusiastic faces at the start of their day.
Mrs Rowe, Subject Leader for Maths, and some of her new Year 5 form explained the meaning and the practical application of one of our important values 'Strive' in the senior assembly this week. This is such a vital life skill and one that we help all our Gateway pupils to develop. We regularly set challenging tasks and through well structured support we encourage the pupils to strive to be their very best. Their capacity to deal with activities which require perseverance is something which will help them achieve well throughout their lives.
At the end of a productive week there are many tired children, and staff, so I hope that all Gateway families can enjoy a restful and fun weekend. I look forward to seeing many recharged batteries on Monday morning!
