After our half term break I am delighted to see that Gateway pupils and staff seem to have returned with renewed energy and enthusiasm for all that lies ahead in this next busy half term, leading up to Christmas. There is plenty planned, with many exciting learning opportunities and chances for the children to showcase their varied talents.
Mrs Shaw planned a super assembly this week to introduce our half term Learning for Life topic of Celebrating Differences. This is so important to our life here and the children are encouraged at all times to embrace our differences and to celebrate everyone’s varied achievements. At Gateway we provide many opportunities for the children to enjoy a wide range of experiences so that they have the chance to discover the areas they really enjoy and excel in. This leads to the development of an impressive number of different talents and interests across the school community, including the staff! Mrs Shaw persuaded some teachers to share their different and rather unexpected talents with the children during her assembly. Ask your children what they found out!
I hope that the parents who were able to join us for our Curriculum Guidance Evenings this week enjoyed the opportunity to find out more about how their talented teachers are planning to stimulate and engage your children in their learning this academic year and how you can help us at home. If you were unable to be there, we will be emailing copies of the presentations used, but please feel free to come and speak to your child’s class teacher. They will be only too happy to talk you through the plans for the year.
As if Halloween wasn't exciting enough, this evening many lucky children will be attending our inaugural Movie Night in the School Hall. My thanks to the FOG team for masterminding and organising this popular event which I am sure will be enjoyed by all.
