Take One Picture Week is always such an uplifting experience around the school. As you walk around, the picture was on display in many different rooms and the learning experiences that the Gateway staff have facilitated are so creative and varied. The children have been fully absorbed in the project; they have asked the questions and led the investigations which have helped to direct the learning across all ages and all curriculum areas. What a fantastic and exciting way to learn!
'The Battle of San Romano' by Paolo Uccello has proved to be another inspiring picture and you will be amazed at the learning that has taken place. From the exciting introduction, ‘Trumpets blare, the ground shakes, and two armies on horseback clash in the Italian countryside. It is a distant time when soldiers wear ornate armour, and cities, not just countries, go to war,’ supported by an excellent soundtrack; the children were hooked from the beginning.
The exhibition will be another fine example of the talent and strength of the pupils across the curriculum, including the use of an impressive array of technology which has been used to showcase the learning. I do hope that many parents will be able to visit our Take One Picture exhibition, it will be open from 3pm until 6pm on Friday 6th March. Your children are keen to show you around the impressive exhibition so that you can share in their successes and their enthusiasm. Please do come along.
